I’ve got a Ryzen 5 5600x and an outdated Gtx 1650 super which still lets me play games, but it does makes noises and I don't get the best performance because of its age, so if I won id go to micro center and get an all white 3060 to complete my build. Specifically, I had temps on my 5800x that were quite frankly unacceptable, often spiking over 90 degrees C while under heavy load from a video editing application. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II is one of the best reviewed cpu coolers and has made a significant positive impact on the cooling for this build. One thing I learned through this process is that there is more than one revision of the Ryzen 7 5800x cpu. Many online review sites demonstrate newer revisions of the 5800x run a cooler temperatures and at a lower power draw. So looking back on my purchases, I wish I had specifically bought only the newer revision of the 5800x.$2,044.92 -

As the title implies, I dreamt of building a computer for a long time before I got to do it. I was newly hired at a... My supervisor noticed how comfortable I am around computers and how I quickly I learned shortcuts and tricks. He told that they're going to buy a new system and showed me the spec sheet some "expert" suggested they put together. He was in for a spin when he asked my opinion (and when he v watched me put everything thing together+cable manage the heck out of it.) On that list was a 3080, during the worst time of the chip shortage. I proceeded to explain that the programs we work on require a fast processor and a lot of RAM, but not so much graphical prowess. He was convinced and next day I had a couple Ks in my pocket shopping for parts and trying to snag the best price on every thing. Even though technically this isn't my computer, I enjoyed building it as it was mine.$804.93 -

I wanted to create my first hard line tubing build, and wanted to try to make rgb look good. So I went with a minimalist color palette to let the rgb shine, among the black, nickel, and clear components. I also wanted to try a vertical gpu mount, which lead me down the path of creating 3d printed parts as the stuck mount was unappealing to me. I also have included my fiber 10gbit nic behind the gpu, another factor that influenced my vertical bracket design. Lian Li provides the 3d model for my case freely, which made the prototyping phase much faster. In hindsight I wish I had incorporated a modification to the top cover plate to allow greater airflow, the system can get quite toasty with a few games like Cyberpunk. I work from home and game on the same pc, so I don't have any channel or such to promote.
